What happens if I miss the call?
Short answer: ReminderCall can retry and send an SMS backup with the reminder text, so the message still reaches you even if you couldn’t pick up.
The reminder doesn't just evaporate — that would defeat the point.
If you can't pick up, ReminderCall sends the reminder as an SMS backup, so the exact text ("Pay the electricity bill today") is waiting on your lock screen the moment you look at your phone. A missed call from a named contact plus a text is still dramatically harder to ignore than a silent banner that appeared and scrolled away hours ago.
In practice the missed-call case is rare: an incoming call rings for around 25 seconds — far longer than the split-second lifespan of a notification — and the full-screen call UI demands a decision rather than a swipe.
Honest caveat: like any phone call, delivery depends on carrier signal. If you're regularly somewhere with no coverage at reminder time, schedule the call for when you're reachable, or rely on the SMS backup landing when signal returns.
